The two companies will work together to develop the necessary tools for a successful rollout of 5G networks in India. “Jio has been committed to enabling widespread use of digital services across Indian society,” said Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). “The potential benefits are immense with every citizen being empowered with data access that can improve quality-of-life.”

The agreement has been signed for the next 20 years, with an initial investment of ₹730 crores. The first phase of the project will involve building a 5G lab for testing and developing use cases for the technology.
